While Max was still alive we knew that our next dog will be another ESS. What we did not know, is how difficult it is to get hold of one. The unexpected death of Max taught us the lesson. After surfing the net we established that Louis Kruger’s WhiteSquall Kennel was expecting their first ESS litter. We contacted Louis immediately and then the waiting game started. When we heard that the litter was smaller than expected, we were disappointed because our chances of getting one would diminish. During the litter’s Week 4, we saw them during a specially arranged family holiday at the coast. And were they cute! It was also then when we met the parents, Casper and Kodi. Kodi being the concerned mother of 5 lovely pups and Casper being the frustrated energetic sire who wanted action. Louis kept the dam and her litter in an immaculate condition and his devotion was immediately visible. After the visit, the waiting game continued… Eventually, after six weeks, we received a late night SMS from Louis. We had our eyes on “Mishka”, a very cute little lady we all fell in love with. The SMS told another story—“Half collar” is ours. To cut a long story short, “Half collar” became ours and is featured on this web-page as “Cleopatra”. We knew we love Springers but we did not expect to become so attached to this little bundle of energy and joy! From the time of getting Cleo until the arrival of the next puppy, Nyytti, our knowledge of the breed and dog issues, grew in leaps and bounds. We have really put in a lot of time to learn more and more and more.
