History: Max (Oct 1998 - May 2006)

Max was Etienne’s dog.  After Nero’s death we went to a dog show to find breeders.  The day we visited the breeder of Max, we were astonished by how beautiful a Rottie can be.

With Nero, our first Rottie, we made one big mistake.  We wanted him to be vicious to keep burglars away from our home.  Well, Nero became so terrible that nobody could dare patting him.  He was a problem.

Before getting Nero, we swore that it would not happen again.  From day one we spent lots of time with him and allowed him to enter the house under supervision.  Eventually he became a true family friend, totally dependent on human love and attention.

His love for the pond where he spent hours trying to catch koi will never be forgotten.  The best 4-legged swimmer we ever had!

Max enjoyed a lovely and healthy 8 years with us before he was suddenly overcome by diabetes.
